Prof David Begg
Chief Executive
Prof Begg is currently a non-executive board member of Heathrow Airport Holdings Limited. He has advised the UK Government on the A14 Cambridgeshire Study and is a member of the UK Governments HS2 External Challenge Group. He is Chief Executive of Transport Times magazine and visiting professor in sustainable transport at Plymouth University. David has also been awarded an honorary doctorate from Nottingham Trent University.
From 1999 until March 2005 David was Chairman of the Commission for Integrated Transport (CfIT), where a big part of his remit was to benchmark and disseminate European transport best practice across the UK. He also advised the Government during the preparation of the 1998 Integrated Transport White Paper and the Transport 10 Year Plan in 2000.

Grant Poulton
Project Director
Grant has 10 years Project Management experience within the transport industry. His career began in Brussels with the POLIS network, before moving to London to join the Intelligent Transport Society for the UK (ITS UK) as their Events Manager. Grant then worked as an Event Manager for London Government's delivery agency Transport for London (TfL) where he was involved with the delivery of the Tour de France Grand Depart in 2007 before joining Transport Times as Commercial Manager in 2008. Grant joined the European Rail Congress team as Project Director in 2012.

Isabel Poulton

Isabel has many years of experience in sales within the Travel and Transport Industries. In her many sales roles, she has worked with Thomas Cook Direct for 12 years and was part of several new ventures they undertook during that time. Isabel was instrumental in managing the strategy for new departments within the Thomas Cook Direct business. These included the inception of Thomas Cook dotcom business and the Thomas Cook Flights Department within their biggest Sales Call Centre in Larbert, Scotland. In the last year with Thomas Cook, Isabel was Head of Sales in their Bradford Call Centre before moving to take up the position of Head of Call Centre for Ingham Travel, in London. Now working as Sales Director for the European Rail Congress, Isabel brings years of sales and management experience to this role.
